This is definitely the best rap track to drop this entire week. This release is off of DZA’s forthcoming collab project with producer Harry Fraud (Bird On A Wire, Shot Caller) entitled Rugby Thompson. He also teams up with two artists that are each part of two of today’s most prominent rap collectives. Recruiting Domo on this track was a great move since they both kill it when it comes to weed raps, & getting Q on any track is a good move because he adds this swiftness to the song that not many rappers can bring to the table. Fraud uses a clever 2 Chainz sample that references his line “& all my cars got gas in the ashtray,” meaning all of his whips have sour diesel in their ashtrays. This is the first 2 Chainz sample I’ve ever heard, & I hope this sets off a future trend, because this sample just bangs too hard. All in all, this is the most refreshing track I’ve heard in a while. Everything, from the production value to the individual set of bars shows that these up & coming groups are going to rule the rap world in the years to come. The Jets, Odd Future & Black Hippy can make one hell of a track together.
